First swine flu death in Delhi
Delhi reported its first swine flu death on Thursday when a 35-year-old woman died of the viral disease at the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital.
The woman, identity ofu00a0whom is yet to be ascertained, was admitted to the hospital in a critical state yesterday. Hospital sources said the lady hailed from Gurgaon and died last night at 10:30pm.
The woman had returned from Singapore on August 15 and developed flu symptoms three days back.
However, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr NK Chaturvedi refused to confirm that the death occurred due to swine flu. "We have sent swab samples to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) to find out if the patient died of swine flu or not," he said.
