The "chocolate story" began when Nikita Malhotra, a young girl of 17, after taking a few courses in chocolate making, started making them at home. She sold them to friends and family and that's when the idea of setting up her own store set in. Walk into the store and you're immediately dazzled by the mind-boggling creativity of the choco-artist. From Cinderella slippers in dark chocolate to the Zoozoo creations in milk chocolate and the tempting chocolate dolls, merely the look of the place is a must-have experience. Sadly, though, we can't say the same about the chocolates or pastries. We tried the only pastry available at the store, the Chocolate Truffle (Rs 70), which was a tad too sweet. We had to actually chew on the pastry and it was so hard and dry, we had to gulp water to wash it down our throat. The chocolates Whiskey Cr me (Rs 20 per piece), Rum truffle (Rs 20 per piece) and Hazelnut cream (Rs 15 per piece) were better off than the pastries but regular in terms
of taste.

Brugge - La Chocolaterie
Located in the heart of a posh suburb, the store is a good place to eat but truly a great place to gift. From made-to-order chocolate gifts, theme decorations and their special chocolate bouquets (starting from Rs 250 up to Rs 15,000), the store is a treat merely to look at for all its atmosphere of sheer indulgence. So, are the chocolates any good? The good news is they use Belgian chocolate. The store claims to import all its ingredients, which are then molded locally. While we liked some of the flavours, a few were avoidable. We liked the Caramella chocolate (Rs 25), a milk chocolate with delicious caramel filling; Fudge Fusion (Rs 25) is for those who like biting into a hard fudge and Gianduja (Rs 25), was made of yummy cocoa and hazelnut flavoured chocolate. The Hazelnut Mousse (Rs 50) was a bit too sweet for our taste while the Chocolate Mousse (Rs 50) made us crave for more.u00a0

Forennte Tuckshop
As the name suggests, this is a tucked away shop in a less-frequented bylane of Koregaon Park. It has no fancy frills attached to it when it comes to d cor; the front of the shop is taken up a glass display of their products while an upper section has some seating space. However, when it comes to the chocolates, this is one place that truly lived up to our expectations. Our favourite was the melt-in-your-mouth Dark Velvet pastry (Rs 70) which was dripping with chocolate but was sweet and bitter in the right proportion. The Tiramisu pastry (Rs 90) was nice but not spectacular. A little heavy with cream and coffee, it could have done with lesser grease.
