Incident occurred in Rohini Sector 11

An allegedly drunken girl rammed her car into a Police Control Room van late onu00a0 Monday night in Rohini Sector 11 area. The incident occurred at 10 pm when Anju, 24, rammed her Santro car in a PCR Van was standing by the road side. The girl was travelling with a male accomplice. The cops in the PCR van are said to be safe and nobody was hurt.

"We had halted by the road side after patrolling in the area for a while. Suddenly an over-speeding car swerved menacingly and rammed into our van. The van was damaged but all the cops inside it are safe," said a police officer who was inside the PCR van when the incident occurred.

The cops took out Anju, who suffered minor injuries. They took her to the nearby hospital for medical examination."It was proved in the medical report that the accused was drunk, so we have lodged an FIR under section 279 and arrested her. The accused is a resident of Baagwan apartments in Sector 28 of Rohini and she was on the way to her home after a party," said a police officer.

The identity of the male accomplice was not disclosed by the police as he was not involved in the incident. Top police officials reached the spot after the word spread that an officer of the rank of SHO was seriously injured in the accident.
