At least nine crude bombs were recovered Saturday from a forested area in Chhattisgarh's restive Bastar region, police said.

The bombs were recovered from Kanker district when a police team was on its way to Markanar village, about 220 km south of capital Raipur, an officer at the police headquarters told IANS.

On Friday, police had recovered nearly 50 kg of explosive material in Dantewada district and a 15-kg claymore mine in a pocket between Chintalnar and Mukram village where 76 security personnel were massacred by the Maoists April 6.
