Cop kills senior, himself

A KSRP constable shot his senior dead and later committed suicide by shooting from the same service rifle in Mysore on Monday.

According to the police, the deceased police inspector, Nagegowda, used to have frequent altercations with police constable Shivakumar.

On Monday the duo had verbal spat over a trivial matter which turned violent. Shivakumar, who was on duty, fired at Nagegowda with his rifle in a fit of rage and later fired at himself.

The Nazarbad police have registered a murder case and are investigating.

The incident also points to the growing frustration and work pressure in the reserve battalion.
