City court seeks clarification on Abdul Telgi case

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Bangalore city has written back to the Pune court seeking clarification regarding the confessional statement of Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket.

However, Shankrappa, the counsel for Telgi, has argued that the CJM could not conduct the confession procedure since the court has no jurisdiction.

According to him, Telgi is presently housed in Central Prison, which comes under the jurisdiction of Bangalore rural court.

Convinced with the argument, the CJM asked the Pune Court to make necessary corrections in this regard.
