Website runs quiz on breast cancer; offers discount on treatment

It is the Kaun Banega Crorepati for those suffering from breast cancer.A website, https://www.indusladies.com/byebyebreastcancer/ , is running a quiz to raise awareness on breast cancer and the winners are being offered discounts on treatment at hospitals like Apollo and Fortis.

The website which offers exhaustive information about breast cancer, its detection, management and treatment, is hugely popular among women. It gets more than 10 lakh hits a month. The website also offers an interactive tab where you can post your queries, experiences and share useful information.

The quiz on breast cancer consists of eight questions. It basically tests the awareness among women across the countries. Around 1986 ladies have taken the quiz, so far.

"There is a lack of awareness among women regarding breast cancer. Through such awareness campaign, they will be able to get themselves treated at early stage," said Dr Mrs Ramesh Sarin, Senior Consultant in Breast cancer Surgery, Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar.

More than 500 women have been given treatment in Apollo hospital after taking the quiz. Doctors advise regular breast examination for women aged below 40 years, as they have dense breast because of functioning ovaries and hence mammography can miss cancerous growth.
