They have been approved by state and MU but can’t start admissions before getting Council’s nod
Dr MA Khan, Registrar, MU said, “New colleges have been approved but they can begin admissions only after approval from BCI.” Another senior MU official said, “BCI should consider the time and give special approval, subject to inspection, in the near future.”
Students say
“The admission schedule, which was to begin on August 10, was postponed to August 11, then to August 20. Now it has again been postponed by two days. We continue to remain confused about seats,” said Swati Ghule, a law student. Sachin Pawar, president of Students Law Council, said, “Government wants to show that they are catering to increased demand for law by approving additional intake. But what’s the point if those seats remain unusable?” Pawar added that MU has already declared an exam timetable.
Dr Narayan Rajadhyaksha, principal, New Law College, said, “It is almost the end August and we are yet waiting for admissions to begin whereas generally, by this time, the academic year begins.”
