A 20-year-old man was killed on the spot on Thursday morning after his motorcycle met with an accident involving a container truck near the Kharegaon bridge on the Mumbai–Nashik Road in Thane.

According to information received by the disaster management control room at 5.48 am, the accident occurred near the Kharegaon toll naka when the victim, riding a motorcycle from Thane towards Nashik, lost control of his vehicle and fell under the rear tyres of a container that was passing close by.
