Mumbai Crime: 5 held for kidnapping, stripping, assaulting and parading 2 youths

The victims were beaten up with a whip for hours

Speaking to mid-day, Akshay said, "It's a false allegation. I was working with their band and they had not paid me so I left. They were angry about this and wanted to teach me a lesson. These people took us with them on the pretext of work and later held us captive. They beat us up for hours with a whip, took off our clothes, shaved our head and eyebrows and then paraded us in the locality."

He further said, "After they left us we were crying sitting on the road in our undergarments. A passerby asked us what had happened and even gave us clothes. After returning home I told my family members about it and then filed a complaint with the police. The accused even pressured me to not file a case and now their family members are threatening us."

Requesting anonymity, an officer from Kandivli police station said, "We have registered a case under sections 365, 307, 323 and 324 of the IPC and section 67 of the IT Act as the accused recorded the incident and circulated it on social media. The accused were produced in court and remanded to police custody."
