Wildlife photographer and naturalist Darshan Vengurlekar has documented a rare behaviour among golden jackals, which involves them feasting on jackfruit in Malvan, Sindhudurg.
“We have seen them eating fruits on the ground like mango, cashew, jamun, or bor. Eating fruits with shells requires more effort, so jackals are not often seen eating jackfruit or coconuts,” he says.
