Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Friday took a sharp swipe at Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over his earlier promise to “adopt” Nashik city, questioning the BJP leader’s commitment to the city’s development.

Addressing a rally ahead of the Nashik Municipal Corporation elections, Raj said leaders who had claimed to have adopted the city in the past were never seen there again. The remark was a direct reference to Fadnavis’s 2017 poll promise to personally oversee Nashik’s development.
