More than 1100 students, teachers and parents from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) schools in Koparkhairane formed a massive human chain on Thursday, January 8, urging citizens to vote in the civic elections scheduled for January 15.
The initiative was organised under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, implemented under the guidance of NMMC Chief and Election Officer Dr Kailas Shinde. Students from NMMC Schools No. 36 and 122 in Koparkhairane village actively participated, spreading awareness about the importance of voting.
