After MiD DAY reported on two massive potholes at 90-feet Road in Thakur Village last month, two bigger ones have shown up; BMC says it'll now fill all four together

Residents of Thakur Village in Kandivli are no strangers to pothole-riddled roads, but the frequency with which they have been popping up lately has taken even them by surprise. After MiD DAY reported about two massive cratersu00a0-- 48-inch and 50-inch wideu00a0-- on the 90-feet Road in the area on April 18 ('12 roads that make a hell of a ride'), two bigger ones have appeared as a result of a sewage line being placed.

Saahil Mangal, a resident of the area, adds, "The condition of roads in Thakur Village has never been good. Every year, we hear promises that the road will be better and there will be no water logging during the monsoon but the promises are washed away by the rain. I can't even take my dogs out for a walk now because there is so much traffic and the construction work has left no pavement to speak of."

The Other Side
Sanjog Kabre, assistant municipal commissioner, R South Ward, said, "The potholes outside Thakur cinema will be filled by the May 11 and the damage caused due to the laying of the sewage line will be repaired by May 24."
