On Thursday, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two arms suppliers to the underworld. During interrogation they revealed that their boss, Aslam, also supplies arms to Naxals. The Crime Branch arrested Afroz Khan (32) and Mohammad Siddique (28) from Kandivli. The two work for Aslam's gang and delivered arms. Aslam, who hails from Jagdishpura in Uttar Pradesh, is also on the intelligence radar, indicated Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy.

We have information that they could be supplying arms to Naxals too."u00a0 Aslam's gang comprises youngsters from various districts in UP, who would travel to different destinations to deliver arms. Khan and Siddique are from Barabanki and Hardoi districts in Uttar Pradesh respectively, and arrived in Mumbai on May 11 to supply arms to an underworld gang. Police arrested them at the SV Road junction of Mathuradas Road in Kandivli after a tip-off from an informer. Seven guns and nine rounds have been seized from them. The Crime Branch is investigating Aslam's links with Naxal leaders.
