Two are too disillusioned and angry with the state in the aftermath of the 26/11 horror to cast their vote; the other doesn't even figure in the voting list. Vinod Kumar Menon on why they feel there's no hope.

For Madhavi More, a resident of Mulund, boycotting the elections is a way of expressing her displeasure against the ruling political party. She said, "I am still awaiting the Shaurya Chakra, the government had announced after the the 26/11 attacks. It's been five months, but there is no sign of the award."u00a0u00a0

Kirti Chakra was awarded to Shashank Shinde, but he had been listed for the Ashok Chakra

Ashok Chakra was awarded to Tukaram Ombale, who was responsible for Qasab being caught alive
