Teen slaps beat marshal in heat of the moment, and is booked for assault
When a cop gives an order, don't question it. Lokhandwala resident Prajot Jaggi (19) learnt this the hard way last night when he slapped a beat cop during an argument and had to spend the night in the police station.
Jaggi's troubles began when the black Lancer (MH -04-BW-094) he and his two friends were in turned turtle at Lokhandwala Circle.
The trio managed to turn the car upright before bystanders, furious at the sight of rash driving, tried to catch them.
While Jaggi's two friends escaped, Jaggi was caught and handed over to the cops.
Atmaram Divte, PI of Versova police station and investigation officer of the case said, "When our beat marshal Amaldar Madhukar Bagul reached the spot, he asked Jaggi to sit in the police van, but Jaggi started arguing with Bagul.
In a fit of rage, Jaggi slapped Bagul."
"The impact caused Bagul to accidentally bite his own tongue.
A case has been registered against Jaggi for voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty and for assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.
