Man arrested for fraud

Vashi police arrested Harshada Chavan (20), a resident of Mira Road, on Saturday in a case of fraud. Chauhan along with her sister Rashmi Chavan (19) represented themselves as CIDCO officers and promised flats at cheap rates to the clients. Two months ago, they took Rs 6 lakh from a Jagdish Jaiswal and gave him a fake CIDCO receipt alongwith a fake agreement copy.u00a0

Police have arrested Chauhan, but her sister Rashmi is absconding. There are cases registered against the two at Parksite police station in Vikhroli for similar fraud. While Chauhan possesses a Bachelor's degree in architecture, Rashmi is a B.Com graduate.
