Mumbai Police's Economic Offence Wing (EOW), which recently seized the car, will record the statement of the actor to know from whom and when the vehicle was purchased.
"We will record Fardeen's statement to know from where and from whom the car was purchased," Additional Police Commissioner (EOW) Sanjay Saxena said.
"Fadeen's Land Cruiser is now in our possession. We will conduct forensic tests on the car to know its chassis number," Saxena said.
As many as 37 imported cars registered in Mumbai are under EOW scanner with owners of 10 cars still to be identified. The EOW began investigation into fraudulent import of high-end cars after the Bombay High Court ordered to probe into such cases while hearing Sushmita Sen's case in which she was found to have imported a car using forged documents.
