Blog entries had been taking a dig at CCI CEO Kamlajeet Rajpal's character
The secretary-CEO of the elite Cricket Club of India (CCI) Kamaljeet 'Bonny' Rajpal's suicide attempt yesterday is one more page in a dark and sordid chapter of the club.
A lady member, who is a Churchgate resident, had charged Rajpal with sending her a sex clip in 2007. She had filed a complaint at the Marine Drive Police Station and the matter was being heard in court.
Since the CCI scandal had broken, a website called https://clubinfo.co.in, with a section called CCI blog had been tracking the progress of the case and uploading press coverage about it. A slew of anonymous comments followed various postings. Some comments said female members had to be careful with Rajpal around, and even mentioned peek shows at the club.
Another comment by an anonymous person says, 'Handcuffs for Rajpal'.
Another post commenting on the reserved judgement on his anticipatory bail application, stated, 'Rajpal will enjoy his weekend'.
Posts calling Rajpal, 'Bony Butler' and questioning how a 'service station' (Rajpal was a former owner of a service station) could become the CEO of the club were also on the site. The CCI had also been dubbed as the Cybercrimes Club of India.
Since the past few days, Navnit Jani had taken over Rajpal's duties at the club.
