Diamond worth Rs 28 lakh looted in south Mumbai

A city-based merchant was robbed off his diamonds worth Rs 18 lakh by four unidentified men in south Mumbai, police said today.

Matsukh Seledia was accosted by the men, who claimed to be CID persons, while he was climbing down the staircase of his building, they said.

The miscreants then attacked Seledia with a knife and decamped with diamonds worth Rs 18 lakh along with Rs 1,80,000 cash that he was carrying, they said.

Further investigation is on, police added.
