Confirming the receipt of the letter, Railway Police Commissioner Tukaram Chavan said, "We have taken all precautionary measures and have informed the Anti Terrorism Squad about it."
The letter which was received by post is written in Hindi and English cautioning similar blast at Dadar and CST railway stations including Taj and Trident hotels.
Preliminary inquires have revealed that the sender had posted the letter from Tamil Nadu and that the ATS were making efforts to trace him.
"We have been asked to patrol the station extensively during the peak hours and also sniffer dogs and Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad help will be taken to keep a check for any unattended articles kept in public toilets, sitting areas etc," said senior inspector Dilip Gore of Kurla railway police station.
"We do not take any threat information lightly and have taken serious cognizance of the letter," said an official from the ATS.
Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) KP Raghuvanshi was busy in a meeting and was not available for comment.
