A N Roy, the director general of police (Maharashtra), whose appointment was quashed by the Bombay high court a week ago, on Wednesday applied for a three-week leave, according to a report in the Times of India.
The court gave the state four weeks to do so and stayed its order for two weeks. This meant that Roy would not have to step down immediately.
Roy sent his leave application to additional chief secretary (home) Chitkala Zutshi, the report added.
