Agency conducted raids in multiple locations as it follows its own leads
ATS officers near the spot where Mansukh Hiran’s body was found
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad raided several places on Monday in connection with its probe into the alleged murder of Thane car decor dealer Mansukh Hiran. One of the ATS teams also detained a person from Gujarat and seized 15 mobile SIM cards. The anti-terror agency suspects this is the same person who has provided 5 SIM cards to an accused, who used one of the SIMs to call Hiran on March 5.

The Centre recently asked the National Investigation Agency to probe the case.
The ATS has so far arrested two accused, identified as Vinayak Shinde and Naresh Gor.
It suspects Gor was instrumental in procuring the SIM cards used in the crime. The Gujarat man was grilled by the ATM team till late night on Monday.
The raids were carried out in and around Thane. One team took Shinde to his home in Kalwa and searched the premises.
They seized a printer that was allegedly used to print the threat letter found in the Scorpio laden with gelatine sticks. The cops then took Shinde to Reti bunder where Hiran’s body was found in a creek.
The spot is barely a 10-minute walk from Shinde’s home.
Another ATS team searched an office at Majiwada, the premises of Motosurgeon Automobile Private Limited, a godown in Bhiwandi and another in Kasheli.
The agency did not immediately disclose what it recovered.
