Pune Crime: Bike-borne duo opens fire at man in broad daylight

Two unidentified suspects shot at a man on Bavdhan-NDA Road on Thursday morning around 11 am.

He is also the founder-president of Himalaya Co-operative society at Bavdhan.

Police Inspector Suresh Bhosale, in-charge of Hinjewadi police station, said “Bandal, along with his 10-year-old son Yash, was returning to their car from a shop. While Bandal was opening the car door, two bike-borne suspects opened fire on him. The bullet hit him above his waist on the right side. After the police team reached the spot, Bandal was shifted to the hospital for treatment.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Hinjewadi division) Smita Patil has instructed her team to analyse footage from CCTV cameras installed in banks and other commercial establishments in the area. Police, however, have received no leads so far.



“I wanted to start a new branch of my school at Paud in Mulshi taluka, and have no business rivalry with anyone,” Bandal told the police in his statement.

Commissioner of Police Satish Mathur, Additional Commissioner Prakash Mutyal, Shahaji Solunke, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Rajendra Mane visited the crime spot.
