The Guide chalks out some exciting beer-tainment for you at the first annual Doolally Beer Olympics
Gear up for the first annual Doolally Beer Olympics organised by Doolally Craft Beers, in association with the Bombay Elektrik Projekt. The Doolally team believes that "beer drinking (despite the International Olympics Committee's refusal to recognise it as such) is a legitimate athletic pursuit and champions should be celebrated as heroes". Hence, they have organised this unique event this weekend.
If you can play ping pong while pouring a beer or Jenga while chugging a beer, then join the crowd at The 1st Brewhouse (Doolally on Tap) where beer athletes will push their bellies to the limit. "Our focus is to make sure people have an entire day of fun with their friends. We want them to participate as well as have a ball, which is why we are organising the audience games. My favourite prize is the Enthu Cutlet trophy for the whackiest, craziest team," says co-founder Suketu Talekar.
Participants from Mumbai and Pune have set up teams with creative names such as Alcoholics Unanimous, Beer Pressure, Khandala Beer Drinkers Association, Burping Monkeys, Sober Drunks of Poona and the Gokhale Warriors. What's more, one of Mumbai's top radio jockeys will be hosting the event.u00a0
Winners of the Beer Olympics stand a chance to win more than Rs 10,000 worth of beer that can be redeemed through the course of the year. Plus, since the winners would be too smashed to drive, Four Points by Sheraton Pune, Nagar Road will give the winning team a night's stay at their hotel.
On May 15, 11 am to 11 am
