Drawing inspiration from the colours and hues of his native Konkan, JJ School of Art alumnus artist Ajinkya Chaulkar's latest exhibition in mixed media fiberglass is unique in many ways. For one, its simplicity is an instant conversation starter. 
The rural surroundings and village folk are reflective of a sense of innocence and labour -- identifiable with the region. Realistic stories from an average day in the life of a villager are conveyed through his stunningly real-life mixed media fiberglass installations.
Chaulkar, whose monumental sculptures include the iconic Maharashtra Raja Shivaji and the 12-feet installation of Meghdambri (replica of Raigad) in bronze have ensured that this artist's credentials precede his work.
Through the medium of fiber, the artist creates miniature worlds and figures that the art lover is bound to identify with. From the potter to the basket weaver and the woman on the field, his three-dimensional creations aim at educating the viewer as well as introducing a sense of realism within the space. Art class can be fun and educative too!
