An online petition has been launched demanding an immediate ban on Pehredaar Piya Ki. The TV show revolves around a 10-year-old boy married to a 20-plus woman.
The drama has been receiving a barrage of criticism, since it went on air last month for its regressive and bizarre content.
The petition on change.org was started by an angry viewer, Mansi Jain, who has urged Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani to ban the show. Jain's petition has received more than 50,000 signatures. The show's makers claim the story is about a rare bond.
