Crazy star Ravichandran, who was invited to Amrutha Maathu Manthana, an interactive programme between scribes and stars from the Kannada film industry, was at his candid bestHenceforth, I will make films for my son. Manjina Hani will be my last film as hero. I have exciting scripts but they call for actors of a younger generation. Manjina Hani (Morning Dew) is being re-shot. I was not happy with the original climax. I spent a few weeks with an eight-year-old and I am putting all these experiences into the film. I have returned the producer's money as I want to make the film my way. Among all my co-stars, I really enjoyed working with Juhi Chawla (Prema Loka) and Khushboo (Ranadheera & Anjada Gandu).My father (film producer Veeraswamy and founder of Eshwari Combines) meant a lot to me. He was the perfect father. When Prema Loka was released, my dad shed tears of joy. He hugged me for a full five minutes. When Shanthi Kranthi was released, he was wheelchair-bound. He asked me to give him an honest opinion of the film. I told him it wasn't a good film. He smiled and said that I would prosper because I had realised my mistake. I don't want to act in other language films. I have enjoyed the status of a raja (king) after Prema Loka. Why should I settle for a mantri's (second lead) post? Budgets have never bothered me. When I asked for 15 bikes of Rs.15,000 each for Prema Loka, producer KCN Chandrashekar backed out of the project. I invested Rs 1 crore and Prema Loka broke all box office records. Most producers today are in the business to make money. They have no respect either for the craft or for the artistes.
