Famous Bengali actress found hanging, suicide suspected

Kolkata: The body of a famous Bengali television serial actress Disha Ganguly was found hanging at her south Kolkata home this morning as the police suspected she could have committed sucide.

The 23-year-old actress allegedly hanged herself inside her room at her residence in Parnashree in southern part of the city, police said. 

"The actress was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom and is believed to have used a dupatta as ligature. The door of the room was bolted from inside. Her boyfriend broke open the door and brought down the body," police said.

No foul play was suspected and no complaint from anybody has been received as yet, police said.

Disha acted in popular Bengali serials like 'Kanakanjali'.
