War drama Pippa is Raja Krishna Menon’s first-ever collaboration with Ishaan Khattar, but this is not Menon’s first collaboration with the latter’s family. Back in 2018, there were reports that the director would collaborate with Shahid Kapoor for the biopic of former boxing champion and Asian Games gold medallist Dingko Singh. A year later, Menon stated in an interview that the writing of the film had begun, but then the project got delayed due to Shahid and Menon’s prior commitments. Now, the director has finally revealed that the movie is not getting made.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Menon shared, “That film has been put on the backburner. That was a boxing film we were talking about. There was a time for it. Sometimes, you need to move on.” He further added, “Having said that, Shahid is a very dear of mine. Shahid, Ishaan and I’ve spent a lot of time together. We keep talking about different stuff and ideas”.
