Apparently, Salman did not want to further anger his Tamil fans, who were already upset with him for attending an awards function in that country and urging the Ready filmmakers to shoot in Sri Lanka instead of Mauritius, even though the Tamil film industry association had made it clear that they would not support films that have anything to do with Sri Lanka. Salman felt it would not be a good move to watch a film on a mythological figure revered in Sri Lanka and derided in India and attracted controversy in the emerald country.
