Delhi-based artist Shuchi Khanna's recently concluded exhibition titled 'Paradise' showcased paintings of landscapes, animals and romance. The theme was as varied as her media of expression. CS caught up with the lady for a chat: 
Art start
Being a commercial artist, I have done a lot of work for varied media. I have also held eight solo shows in India. Some of my works are displayed in the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, and Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit's office. I have also done a lot of art work for diplomatic offices/embassies across the country.

Picture perfect
I am quite versatile when it comes to different media. I do a lot of work in acrylic, paperwork and media mix. There are some paintings in this exhibit, which I have made by just dipping my fingers in paint. This is primarily a landscape series that shows off the beauty of nature. I don't like to paint sad subjects. You will find a lot of peace, harmony and happiness in all my paintings. the vibrant colours add to the happiness and cheer. The body of work will make you feel happy when you see it.u00a0u00a0

Life in art
Painting is my passion and keeps me going through the thick and thin. I also teach applied arts to students of Sanskriti School, New Delhi. Art as a subject of higher study is catching up with students and that's a good sign. I have seen many young art students getting admissions to top art schools across the world and that shows the artistic potential in the country.
