Screen Award organisers send award that Akshay Kumar dedicated to Aamir Khan to Akki's house, regardless...
Akshay Kumar passed on his win for the Most Popular Actor (male) to Aamir Khan (for his performance in Ghajini), and walked off the stage without accepting the trophy, he probably didn't think that his gesture would go in vain.
No takers
A week after his 'charitable' act, the award that Akshay won through online and SMS voting is languishing at the Screen office. Neither Akshay or Aamir want to claim it a first probably.
Says a source in Screen, "There appear to be no takers for the trophy. Aamir doesn't go to the Screen Awards and though he SMSed Twinkle that it was a very sweet gesture on Akshay's behalf, it's unlikely he will collect the award.
The organisers are now not taking responsibility of delivering the trophy to Aamir because it is a well-known fact that he spurns awards."
Priyanka Sinha, editor of Screen says, "As of now, Akshay's trophy (it has his name embossed on it) is with us at the Screen office. We will be sending the trophy across to Akshay shortly. It's his prerogative what he wants to do with it but our responsibility ends with that."
