It was almost a family affair at the sound studios while one of the music tracks of Soumik Sen’s upcoming film was being recorded. Madhuri Dixit, who recently lent her voice for a song from her film, also had her mother and father attending the session along with her. And sources say it is not just Mads but her mother too who has sung for this particular track in the film.

Sources say Madhuri’s mother Snehlata is a trained classical singer and her parents wanted the actress to become a crooner one day. But fate had something else in store for Madhuri. And despite being unwell on the day, Madhuri’s father too came to watch mother and daughter sing together.

Producer Anubhav Sinha says requesting Mad’s mom to sing was a last-minute decision on the part of the makers. He says, “The recording was going on in a studio in Andheri. The decision to ask auntyji to sing was an impromptu one. When we got to know that she is a classical singer, we wooed her to sing and she obliged.”

Incidentally, Sinha worked with Madhuri as an assistant back in 1993. And the producer has known Snehlata since 20 years now. He adds, “We had a blast while recording the song. It was so much fun to see both of them sing.”

Madhuri and her mother completed their recording in two hours that took place at the Empire Studios in Andheri. u00a0
