Simkaur, a dynamic entrepreneur originally from Ludhiana, India, has built an inspiring life and career in London, UK. A single mother and fearless businesswoman, she has turned adversity into opportunity at every stage of her journey.

After moving to the UK in 2002, Simkaur entered the world of business by 2007. In 2017, she took over a struggling restaurant in London, pouring her heart and vision into transforming it into Punjabi_Kitchen - a vibrant culinary destination known for its authentic flavors and energetic atmosphere.

However, 2020 brought unexpected turmoil. In a difficult and unfair situation, the restaurant space was taken from her. Refusing to let injustice define her path, Simkaur walked away - only to return stronger, ultimately buying back the space and reclaiming what was hers. The same year, the global pandemic forced the closure of two of her ventures. But instead of backing down, she rose again, launching two new businesses and expanding her empire to four, all on her own.

In July 2023, Simkaur began documenting her journey on Instagram through vibrant reels, trending audio, and behind-the-scenes moments from her restaurant and personal life. Her content struck a chord, and within a year, her page - @punjabi_kitchen - grew to over 200,000 followers. Her audience finds inspiration not only in her resilience and work ethic but also in her ability to stay grounded and real.

“I didn’t plan to be an influencer,” Simkaur says. “I just wanted to show that even if life breaks you down, you can always build yourself back up.”

Today, Simkaur is more than just a restaurateur. She’s a mother, a business owner, a digital creator, and a symbol of strength for women everywhere who are fighting their own battles and building their dreams from scratch.
