A glamorous TV presenter has been hand-picked by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to be the new face of ethnic diversity in France.

Caribbean-born Christine Kelly (39) is lined up to be minister for overseas territories in a reshuffle.

She will replace single mum Rachida Dati (43), who burst into tears when she was sacked in January after she controversially refused to name the father of her new baby.

Kelly -- who is often seen wearing bikinis -- has written books about French PM Francois Fillon and Arsenal star William Gallas.

A source in France's governing UMP party said, "Sarkozy is hugely impressed that she is not only attractive, but in touch with the modern world."
