Lewd SMSes sent to woman traced to retired armyman outside state Lawyer Sharmila Mishra (27), who practices in Bengaluru, lodged a complaint yesterday with the Frazer Town Police against a retired army officer, who has allegedly been sending lewd SMSes to her married sister for the last two months.u00a0u00a0
The victim, the complainant and the sender of the SMSes are from Kashmir.
The Frazer Town police have found that the SIM card from which the offensive SMSes were sent belongs to a woman outside Karnataka. Police officers, however, say a man has been using the phone for sending lewd messages.
Mishra, says the police is not acting as fast as it should. "Even my requests to the police commissioner have come to nothing. I am now considering taking the matter to court," she said.
Inspector P Girish of the Frazer Town police station said Mishra was in the habit of picking quarrels with her clients and lodging complaints against them. "Sharma is not serious at all. She often gets into disputes with her clients. This is not the first time she has registered a complaint of this nature. We have begun investigations, and even passed on some information about the sender of the SMSes but the number is difficult to trace because the SIM card isn't local," said Girish.u00a0u00a0u00a0
Said Mishra, "For the last two months, my sister has been getting these lewd messages from this person. The messages come as late as 3 am. The police are not interested in helping us. It was only after we asked repeatedly; they said the sender is retired military man. I could not believe this because we don't know anyone who fits that description. Clearly, the police know who the person is, but they are not doing anything beyond sitting on the information."u00a0u00a0
