The Altaf Hussain-trained Sultan Suleiman, who was overtaken at a crucial juncture in the race by favourite Grand Accord (Bhavani Singh up), produced an amazing second run to regain lead and win the Sir Charles Forbes Trophy, the feature event on the opening day of the Mumbai racing season 2021-22.
TS Jodha had another winner in Treasure Gold trained by Bezan Chenoy, whom he brought up with a flourish in the final furlong of the MD Petit Plate to shock the public choice, Chopin (Neeraj Rawal up). Ace jockey A Sandesh and veteran trainer Imtiaz Sait combined to win two races. Their winners were Sky Storm (Maple Star Plate) and Remus decisive victory in the Master Shifu Plate.
