Pratiyush Bauva, 14, of Nalanda Public School (Mulund) clinched a second gold medal in the boys under-16 singles final of the MSSA inter-school table tennis tournament, played at the Hansraj Morarji Public School, Andheri, on Monday.

Pratiyush Bauva, 14, of Nalanda Public School (Mulund) clinched a second gold medal in the boys under-16 singles final of the MSSA inter-school table tennis tournament, played at the Hansraj Morarji Public School, Andheri, on Monday.


The Mulund schoolboy, who guided Nalanda to winning the team championship gold, played with plenty of grit and determination to win against Yuvraj Yadav of St Stanislaus HS (Bandra) with a 12-10, 11-3, 5-11, 9-11, and 11-8 scoreline. Nivaan Sheth of Jamnabai Narsee School (Juhu) claimed the boys under-14 gold defeating Ryan Hooda of Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) in four games at 11-9, 2-11, 12-10, and 11-8.

The boys under-12 gold went to Aakarshan Yadav of Rajhans Vidyalaya (Andheri) who got the better of Moksh Shahri of Dr S Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya (Malad) in a long drawn contest snatching a 7-11, 11-2, 8-11, 12-10, and 11-7 win. The boys under-10 final saw Yuvaan Walia of VCW Arya Vidya Mandir (Bandra) defeat his brother Avyaan Walia 11-13, 11-5, 9-11, 11-6, and 11-7 to bag the gold.
