India’s Olympic and world champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is set to participate in the Paris Diamond League 2025, scheduled for June 20 at the historic Stade Sebastien-Charlety, according to Olympics.com. This will mark Chopra’s second Diamond League appearance of the season, following his performance in Doha earlier this year.
Interestingly, the Paris meet will also be Chopra’s first outing at this venue in eight years. The 27-year-old last competed in the French capital back in 2017, where he finished fifth with a throw of 84.67m, while Germany’s Johannes Vetter topped the podium with an impressive 88.74m.
Chopra was originally expected to feature in the 2024 edition of the Paris Diamond League but opted out to focus on training for the Paris Olympics, prioritising form and fitness ahead of the marquee event.
