McLaren, who are gunning for their first back-to-back title success in 26 years, appear set to seal the constructors’ crown in Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay street track, after they were forced to put the champagne on ice at the last race in Baku.

The Woking outfit — winners of 12 races this year with seven of them one-two finishes — are 333 points clear of closest challengers Mercedes. With a maximum 303 up for grabs after the floodlit Singapore spectacular, all they need is 13 points to seal the deal with six races to spare.
