Romanian tennis star Simona Halep’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou has been cited as one of the reasons for the 2019 Wimbledon champion’s decision to divorce her billionaire husband Toni Iuruc, 42.

According to Romanian tabloid Cancan, there are multiple reasons that may have contributed to Halep’s decision. Firstly, Cancan claimed that since Halep signed the contract with Mouratoglou in April, Iuruc has not attended any of her matches.

The second reason the tabloid cited is that Mouratoglou posted a message taking the blame on him for her second round defeat at Roland Garros. Later, Halep defended the coach and fired her manager Virginia Ruzici. The third reason why Mouratoglou has been blamed for the divorce is that after the French Open, Halep signed a management contract with her coach’s best collaborator, Nina Wennerstrom, a former tennis player who is considered the most influential women in Scandinavian sports.
