Tennis legend Novak Djokovic expressed uncertainty about returning to Roland Garros next year following a straight-sets semifinal defeat to world number one Jannik Sinner on Saturday. The Serbian star, a three-time French Open champion and holder of 24 Grand Slam titles, bowed out 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3) in a tightly contested clash, which marked a potential farewell to the clay courts of Paris.
Paris, you have my gratitude. Thank you for your incredible support in a place that is very special to me ??. Honestly some of the greatest support I’ve received in my career ??. Bravo to Jannik. Merci to @rolandgarros. À bientôt. pic.twitter.com/TKRZl7SIDN
Sinner, just 23, displayed masterful command across all areas of the court. With his pinpoint accuracy, powerful groundstrokes, and consistent serve, he managed to subdue Djokovic, setting up a historic final against Carlos Alcaraz. The championship match will be the first Grand Slam final featuring two players born in the 2000s.
