Debutants Mumbai Police City Riders registered a three-run victory over defending champions Thane Marathas in the Mitsui Shoji Twenty20 cricket league at Police Gymkhana ground, Marine Lines yesterday

In a low scoring tie, policemen posted 159-7 in 20 overs and in reply, Thane outfit could mange only 156-7 in their allotted 20 overs.

In the other match, Ghatkopar Jets beat Shivaji Park Warriors by 54 runs.
