Honduras captain Amado Guevara has urged his teammates to play for a famous victory against a Spain side who are "not invincible."

Honduras take on the European champions in their second World Cup Group H match at Ellis Park tonight with both sides looking to put points on the board after opening defeats to Chile and Switzerland respectively.

Spain's 1-0 loss to the Swiss was a major shock and it would be even more surprising if Honduras were to condemn Vicente Del Bosque's side to a second defeat.

Guevara told El Heraldo: "We are ready to play Spain. We have a great responsibility and also a chance to move to the next round. We are playing a team with great tradition and quality but we can win. But they are not invincible and we must work hard to win. We have prepared ourselves mentally that we can win and progress into the last 16."
