It is not only the IPL but also the highly anticipated global javelin event, NC Classic 2025, named after Indian star Neeraj Chopra, that has been postponed indefinitely. The event, which was about to mark the biggest athletics event in India, was scheduled on May 24 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru

Even some local leagues have been put on hold. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has also postponed its T20 league, the Bengal Pro T20 League Season 2. A statement by CAB said that the updated venues, fixtures and a revised schedule will be shared after a detailed review of the situation

After Covid restrictions, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to hold the third edition of the T20 Mumbai League but its future hangs in uncertainty. The city-based event was set to take place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium from May 26 to June 8.
