These four Indian batsmen have won the Orange Cap in IPL history

When it comes to the award for the highest run scorers in IPL seasons, it is the foreign cricketers that have the lions share in winning the Orange Cap

The Indian Premier League 2020 season witnessed a historic ending after Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians defeated Shreyas Iyer's Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets on November 10, to win their record fifth IPL title. MI, have extended their lead with most IPL titles and have also equalled Chennai Super Kings record of winning two consecutive IPL titles (2019, 2020).

However, when it comes to the topic of highest run scorers in IPL seasons, it is the foreign cricketers that have the lion's share in winning the Orange Cap. It started with Shaun Marsh for Kings XI Punjab in 2008 with 616 runs. The next year in 2009, Australia's Matthew Hayden won the Orange Cap for CSK with 572 runs. In 2010, Mumbai Indians' Sachin Tendulkar became the first Indian cricketer to win the Orange Cap in IPL with 618 runs. Chris Gayle won the Orange came in back to back IPL's with 608 runs in 2011 and 733 in 2012. Mike Hussey scored 733 again in IPL 2013 to win the Orange Cap.
