The Indian team management in the West Indies wanted Suryakumar Yadav to arrive in the Caribbean during the ongoing opening Test at Dominica to get acclimatised for the limited overs series.

However, it is learnt that the selection panel headed by new chairman Ajit Agarkar, decided that Suryakumar was better off playing the Duleep Trophy final for West Zone versus South Zone at Bangalore.


Through this, the selectors have shown that they believe match practice is better than batting in the nets.
