At just 26, life has been a plethora of ups and downs for opening batter Prithvi Shaw. After a buzzing start to his first class and India career, making a fine debut in all three formats and earning big bucks from Delhi Daredevils at IPL 2018, the lows hit even quicker and harder. His form dipped and he lost his place in not only Team India, but also the Mumbai side, and was eventually released by the Delhi Capitals (DC) following a poor 2024 season.
But now he’s back, fit and raring to go for DC (he was bought for Rs 75 lakhs). “Last year I didn’t play the IPL, but I enjoyed life… went to a couple of destinations and it helped freshen my mind. I came back and worked harder on my batting. That break was good for me,” Shaw told reporters after a training session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Wednesday.
